Phase 0 - The dock and basic infrastructure
The new dock is proposed to be built near the old White House dock that has deteriorated over the years. Historically there has always been a dock in this area meaning that the environmental impact will be kept to a minimum. This is also the safest location on the island with respect to wind conditions and potential wave impact.
A jetty wall will be constructed to protect the new dock and the future marina from the waves making the dock operational all year. The new dock will make it easier for Salt Cay residents to bring in food and supplies and will be owned and operated by the TCI Government.
New roads and an improved airstrip will further enhance the infrastructure on the island.
